Patricia Chiantera-Stutte is Professor of History of Political Thought at the University of Bari Aldo Moro. She studied political science in Bari and then completed two doctorates: one in philosophy at Saarbrücken and another in cultural studies at the Collegio San Carlo in Modena.
Her academic path includes research support and fellowships from institutions such as the European University Institute in Fiesole, the DAAD, the Istituto Trentino di Cultura, the Leibniz Institute for Regional Geography, and the CNR. Public profiles describe an appointment as researcher in 2002, associate professor in 2015, and full professor from January 2024.
Her scholarship concentrates on the history of political thought in its relation to modern European intellectual history. Within that field, recurring themes include fascism and National Socialism, geopolitics, populism, conservative revolution, historiography, and the political uses of the idea of civilization.
